Just Another Day
I’m glad that I decided to stay in the apartment; both of us are doing well. I like the independence the apartment gives me. Lena’s taking good care of me and checking in often.
This past Tuesday Hayden and I headed out to the art/jewelry store. Was quite the walk, takes us about 45 mins one way. Plus I made a short pit stop at the mall’s benches for a rest. It was hot that day and carrying Hayden in the Baby Bjorn, against me, makes it even hotter, so I took a short rest.
As soon as I walked in the owner says to me; where’s your friend? I said some of them have gone home already. She says what about the friend with the beard (stroking her chin) meaning Bob (don’t think she realizes he’s my husband) said yes, he left too. She was very disappointed (think she has a crush on him)!
Hayden and I try to get out every day. Today we hit the market and fruit/veggie stands. I’m hook on their tomatoes – they are delicious and very inexpensive! I have invited Annie to come over tomorrow. She’ll get picked up at her hotel after the first visit to the orphanage is over (around 12ish). Lena lives close by my apartment so Anatoly will drop Annie off here with me and pick her back up before the second visit. Looking forward to spending some time with her/Lilly.
Mom your package finally was delivered to me today. It arrived a few days ago, but this morning was Lena’s first chance to pick it up from the post office. So I now have books to read! Thanks a ton Mom!! I was beginning to get sick of the DVD’s. There are only so many times you can watch the same movies over and over!!
Yesterday I also managed to blow up our rechargeable batteries and/or the recharger itself. I used the adaptor to plug it in – but completely forgot to use the converter! (Bob didn’t give me any training sessions on that!) So I’m pretty sure the higher voltage blasted it. So had to go buy regular batteries today also (they don’t sell them in the groceries stores here). So no new pics today. Hopefully will get some tomorrow while out and about with Annie.
Till then…..another day done!
On the other side of the world: Got an email from Linda Bennett, who watches Spencer once a week for us (3 days now till I get home) she said:
Just wanted to let you know that Spencer is having a BLAST with his little friends!! He has been so excited this morning. What a talker...wow, his sentences are complete and we even got "I love you" from him. He's adorable. All the kids were so excited to see him and he's just running around with such excitement. I was really expecting him to have a tough time after not being here for awhile, but he's so excited about his friends, it's cute. He was even excited when Shawna took him back to wake up Tyler. When Shawna came to him, he said "I have a brother....Hayden". What a cutie!! You don't need to worry about him at all....he seems to be right into the routine here already! They're building the tinker toys right now!!
Makes me even more certain we made the right decision in getting home to a regular routine! Thanks Linda!

I'm so glad you're managing, Gina--but I wasn't worried either :) I really enjoyed the Email about Spencer. I can just picture him charming everyone!
Gina, I'm so excited for you and Hayden and the adventure that you two are having. When are you coming home? I'm free for the next two weeks if Bob needs any help with Spencer. I can't wait to see you all again! XOXO
